The Good Day Mobile Farm at COG. What a day! The sun shone and everybody had a lovely time.

The Good Day Farm believes everyone should benefit from the joy animals can bring. They recognise that many people are unable to visit farms themselves so they are here to bring the farm to us, and we loved every minute of our wonderful, inclusive farm day.

There were an array of beautiful farm animals, all had lovely natures and were well used to being handled by small hands. Emily and Laura take such amazing care of their animals, are so enthusiastic, caring and happy to be bringing the farm on tour, and the whole day was an absolute joy.

The children were able to interact with all of the animals and really enjoyed holding the Bantum chickens, John, Dave, Gladys and Morag! The ducklings were also a big hit, and Petal the sheeps's soft wool was fascinating to touch. Murphy the miniature pony was a favourite of many children and Sandra the pig enjoyed lots of back scratches. Sid the rabbit was a delight and Gucci, the tiny chick was loved by all.

We ran two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so that the animals and staff could have a break. Families and children had booked into a convenient session to spend time experiencing the farm.

One child left saying "Best day ever", and the smiles and affection for the animals displayed by the children was testament both to how much they were enjoying the day and also how invaluable the experience was for them.

This session is part of Active Impact’s Of Course We Can programme and is supported by funding from Gloucestershire County Council.
