Inclusion Friendly Mark of Achievement

COG has been awarded a Mark of Achievement for our work as an 'Inclusion Friendly' early years setting.
COG has been an advocate for inclusion in the early years since its inception in 1973, and has never lost the original intention behind this ethos - to care for and educate all children equally, working at their individual levels and from their own starting points.
This Mark of Achievement has been awarded by Dingley's Promise. To achieve this, Early Intervention staff at COG took part in training to evidence the thinking and practice at COG that follows specific models of intervention; supporting children with SEND and additional needs to thrive and to make progress in their learning and development. Between the ages of 2 and 4 years children are supported to achieve specific milestones in their development, which are measured and unique to them. COG staff, both Early Intervention and Family Support, then provide a robust transition into the next phase of children's education, wherever that may be.
As part of this journey through a child's early years, COG's Outreach Family Support Team also works with the family, providing advice, support and signposting to help parents/carers to get help in place for them and their child, to be a listening ear and to advocate for families during challenging times.
COG's Centre Manager, Catharine Fowler said of the award,
We are proud of what we achieve here at COG and grateful to have this recognised. The entire staff team all work towards the same goals with our children and families, working together to fulfil our vision of creating positive beginnings for young children and families. It is this shared vision that means we can be holistic in our support and truly provide a positive experience in early years education and care for all children.
