Volunteer with COG

How you can volunteer
We are always keen to hear from individuals or groups who want to use their time, skills and enthusiasm to help make good things happen here at COG!

Whether that be through volunteering directly with children and families, as a member of our board of trustees, by providing a useful skill around our site or helping to facilitate something we are doing, please know that each volunteer is valued and supports us to continue to make a difference.
Please email or telephone our Charity Fundraiser, via the Contact us page, if you are aged 18 and over, and would like to volunteer during term time, Monday – Friday, and/or during the summer holidays, at our Early Years Centre.
We need help with:
- Assisting with our term-time group activities and during our Summer Play Scheme
- Helping to prepare and serve food and drink
- Fundraising
- Marketing and social media
- Maintenance and upkeep of our grounds and building
- Improving and providing resources for children and families to use at our Centre
Keep an eye on Our Vacancies and Opportunities, where specific volunteering roles are also listed.

Become a Trustee
We wish to recruit individuals to join our motivated Board of Trustees, to support us in achieving our vision of creating positive beginnings for young children and families.
We are keen to welcome new Trustees that are willing to work as part of a team to oversee and support the future development of Cirencester Opportunity Group (COG). We feel that individuals who would approach this vital work with professionalism, integrity, and openness, would be best suited to leading our charity into the future.
We are committed to ensuring that our Board of Trustees remains refreshed, by adhering to the recommended time limits for Directors. Therefore, we wish to recruit several new trustees and we are seeking individuals with relevant and varied life experiences, as well as skills and professional experience within any of the following areas:
- Early Years and Education
- Business Development
- Human Resources
- Legal
- Governance
- Finance
- IT
- Income Generation
- Marketing/Communications
We are also seeking to build a strong group of Advisors, who may not have time to commit to being trustees but who can lend their relevant skills and experience to offer advice and guidance.
The invaluable work of our Trustees enables us to continue to make a difference to the lives of young children and families by providing strong leadership, and ensuring that our organisation is in the best position to fulfil our vision by working on our long-term strategy. Our Trustees know how important it is that COG continues its varied and vital work with families, whilst continuing to increase its profile within our local community.
We would be interested in hearing from anybody who feels able to offer some of their time, skills and experience either in a trustee or advisory role.
Please contact us for more information and to introduce yourself.
