Advisory Board

We are in the process of building a strong Advisory Board to support the work of the Board of Trustees and wider organisation. This group comprises people who have relevant experience and skills to be able to offer advice and guidance to Cirencester Opportunity Group, but do not necessarily have the time to commit to being a member of the Board of Trustees. They may have previously been a Trustee or have other personal experience of COG.

If you feel you may have skills to offer and are inspired to help us achieve our vision of creating positive beginnings for young children and families, please contact us.

Bob has a Management Accountancy background and has been involved with COG since 2005, having served as Treasurer on The Board of Trustees. Having recently stepped down from this role, Bob has kindly moved onto the Advisory Board so that his vast experience can still be called upon and utilised. Bob's wife, Kathy, has kindly baked and donated Christmas cakes to COG's Silent Auction for many years as well.

Pete has been involved with COG since 1987, initially as a contractor carrying out electrical work within the building. He could see what a unique charity COG is, the vital services it was delivering to the community and to the town of Cirencester as a whole; the positive impact it had and continues to have today. Pete decided to become a trustee to help further the work he could see was so valuable. Some years ago he took on the role of Chair of the Board and retired from this role in 2023. Stepping down from the Board in May 2024, Pete kindly still supports COG with his extensive knowledge of property maintenance and the experience he has built up around the charity over the years.

Russ joined COG as a Trustee in 2018, with a career in Insurance and was an active member of Cirencester Chamber of Commerce. He stepped down from the Board when he launched his own Pilates business, during which time he also started his young family. With little spare time, Russ wanted to remain connected with COG and now supports in whatever ways he can. This has included generous donations of Pilates gifts for COG's Christmas Silent Auctions, and also a wonderful fundraising event that he ran with his many Pilates clients in aid of COG which he plans to repeat in the future.
