Communication and Language

Our children are encouraged to listen to stories, enjoy books and nursery rhymes, and are given plenty of opportunities to talk and to listen with skilled and sensitive staff. Through a range of activities the children develop fine motor skills which are necessary for pencil control and writing skills. Signing is used to aid and stimulate language development for some children and we are supported weekly by a Speech & Language Therapist. Music Therapy sessions are available for individual children to promote and encourage children’s communication skills. Children are encouraged to borrow books regularly from our library.
