Early Intervention

Our aim is to help each child enjoy their education and reach their potential. We provide effective support to the families of children who attend Cirencester Opportunity Group and this work is carried out by our Early Intervention team.

We have committed Early Intervention Outreach Workers who support families in a variety of ways. They provide short-term support in times of need such as the arrival of a new baby, accompanying parents on hospital visits or arranging transport so that parents can attend these appointments. They also arrange regular home visits with planned activities to enhance a child’s development and to support the whole family.

At our premises in Beeches Road, the Early Intervention Team run regular and supportive sessions including Happy Parenting courses, cookery classes and sessions to explore and promote all aspects of family learning. Weekly Total Communication signing workshops are held for parents, to support their children’s communication.

The Team also implements the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and are trained and skilled practitioners, as well as being lead professionals in this field. The CAF facilitates the early identification of children's additional needs and promotes coordinated support with other agencies to meet those needs.
