Communication, Language and Literacy

Our children are encouraged to listen to stories, enjoy books and nursery rhymes, and are given plenty of opportunities to talk and to listen. Through activities like playdough, threading, peg boards and painting, the children develop fine motor skills which are necessary for pencil control and writing skills.

We are fortunate to be supported once a week by a Speech and Language therapist. Makaton signing is used to aid and stimulate language development of some children.
